Learn to dye fabric using the ancient Japanese tradition of shibori, otherwise known as tie-dye. You’ll use fiber reactive dyes to add color to white fabric and a discharge chemical to take color out of previously dyed fabric. Your finished fabric will be perfect for quilting, garment sewing and home decorating.

Learn the basics of glass cutting, foiling, soldering and framing in order to embellish your home with stained glass panels, decorative mirrors or handmade lampshades. By the end of the class, beginners will have learned the fundamentals and completed a panel. Returning students will be able to explore more advanced techniques.

Learn basic machine and hand-sewing techniques, then create a lined tote bag or small beginner project and a project of your choice with instructor guidance. You’ll learn how to take measurements, choose and follow a pattern, select and prep fabric, sew zippers, create buttonholes and make some simple adjustments to get a better fit.
