While designing and creating an outdoor installation, students will be encouraged to use grasses, leaves, flowers, rocks and other natural materials from nature to create contrasting colors and textures.
read moreImagine and create fictional creatures with air-dry clay. Develop characters and combine attributes of real organisms to make fictional hybrids. You’ll use basic hand-building techniques in air dry clay to render forms that express the function of the creature’s capabilities.
read moreIn this workshop we will use laser toner decals, experiment with underglaze transfers, and incorporate text and stamp imagery. Focus will be practicing these techniques on handmade tiles, however many of these applications can be formatted for use on wheel-thrown or sculptural work.
