Classes

Woodworking: Make a Picture Frame (B)

Get introduced to the basics of woodworking as it pertains to picture framing. You'll learn woodworking techniques like measuring and calculating dimensions, cutting and joining molding, reinforcing a miter joint with splines, and basic woodshop safety. We'll also cover the framing process including matting art or floating with spacers, putting together the frame, and installing hardware for hanging. Plan to leave the class with your own 16" x 20" frame with art inside ready for hanging.

Special Notes

  • Students should plan to bring a sketchbook or notebook and writing utensil to class. Students can also bring one flat work of art that is 16" x 20" or smaller to be framed if you have one.
