Sketchbook: Exploration + Daily Practice
Make a simple sketchbook or bring your own. Learn how to fuel creativity & form a habit of sketch booking. We'll do collaborative sketchbook activities, take walking field trips to go sketching outside and learn new techniques we've never thought of before!
Special Notes
- Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This studio is not wheel chair accessible from the interior due to two steps, but is accessible through an exterior door.
On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
About the Instructor
Jamie Douglas
Hello! I’m Jamie, an illustrator, cartoonist and obsessive sketch-booker living in Richmond, Virginia. Whether based in personal experience or plucked from impossible dreamscapes, my art is narrative and imaginitive. It's often full of tiny details and humor. I was born in 1988 and I haven’t stopped drawing since. My go-to drawing supplies are the super thick & juicy 1.6 mm Bic Cristal pens (black ink), and those whiteout correction pen things.
