Sculptural Ceramic Containers

Explore the world of hand-built clay structure. Designed for all skill levels, students will delve into fundamental techniques over eight sessions. They will craft unique functional ceramic containers, disguised as sculptures, like castles, beehives, or houses. Participants will learn the basics of slab and hand-building techniques, how to create lids with a keyhole locking mechanism, and the art of adding decorative elements through slipping and scoring. The class fosters creativity by encouraging students to think outside the box while making boxes. All materials will be provided.
