Introduction to Filmmaking
In this course you will be able to learn the basic of the whole filmmaking production: script writing, storyboarding, pre-production, camera work, lighting, sound recording and post production. You will be divided into groups to finish a small film project based on a theme, and will receive feedback along the way. This course also includes various screenings to enrich your knowledge in film history, film analysis and experimental film appreciation.
Special Notes
- Bring your own camera and tripod with you. You can use your phone if you want but a DSLR would be recommended. Students are also required to buy an external hard drive (recommended 1TB) for working on the stations in VisArts
On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
This instructor speaks Chinese Mandarin, and Japanese, but the class is held in English.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
