Intermediate Metal Jewelry (A)
Take your metal jewelry making to the next level. We’ll focus on design execution, stone setting as well as fabricating and soldering with sterling silver. You’ll also advance your polishing skills for finishing pieces.
Special Notes
- Prerequisite: a beginner metal jewelry class or comparable experience. Some materials provided; the instructor will discuss other necessary supplies and how to purchase them.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
About the Instructor
Jay Sharpe
Jay Sharpe grew up in Richmond, VA, attended VCU and graduated in 1990 with a BFA in Fine Arts, with a focus on metalsmithing and fine jewelry. Jay promptly began his career at the Hand Workshop (which is now known as Visual Arts Center of Richmond) that same year. He became on of VisArts' Master Teacher recipients in 2014 and hasn't stopped teaching since! His jewelry line, Henléava Jewelry Collection, has been featured in Essence Magazine, Richmond Magazine, and Southern Living Magazine, and worn by several celebrities.
