Flameworking: Pendant Party!
Work with borosilicate glass on an oxygen propane torch to create resilient, wearable pieces. This workshop will start with the absolute basics of flameworking then expand to color, patterning and other techniques for creating wearable pieces.
Special Notes
- All materials and equipment provided. Wear clothing made of natural fibers to class and closed toe shoes (no flip–flops). Work will be ready for pick up at a later date after cooling.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
About the Instructor
Kristi Totoritis
Totoritis completed her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond,VA majoring in crafts and material studies as well as painting in 2010. She completed a competitive internship residency in 2011 at the Chrysler Museum of Art Glass Studio and has continued to be faculty ever since. Recently Totoritis completed her Masters iof Visual Art with a focus in glass and print media from the Australian National University School of Art. She has studied both nationally and internationally at craft schools including Pilchuck Glass school, Pittsburgh glass Center, The Studio at Corning and Canberra Glassworks.
