Build + Decorate a Clay Wall Planter with Local Flora (Adults and Youth 12+ with a Registered Adult)
Learn how to decorate clay wall planters with botanical stamps and stencils! Using Virginia flora, you’ll learn how to apply botanical stamps and stencils to create organic patterns and textures in your clay creations.
Special Notes
If under 18, student must be accompanied by a registered adult. Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible. This class includes a glaze firing which students can choose from 2 options. These may not be done in time for the holidays. On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. About the Instructor
Merenda Cecelia
Merenda Cecelia lives in Richmond, Va. She is an artist and state certified art educator with extensive experience in mosaic work including several large installations. She has taught for 12 years in a variety of settings including public and private schools, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and The Visual Arts Center since graduating with a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also works at the VMFA planning large community events, and when she is not doing that you can find her in the yoga studio or playing in creeks with her son.
