VisArts Announces Rise + Shine Featured Speaker: Interior Designer Amanda Nisbet

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond announces that interior designer Amanda Nisbet will be the featured speaker at Rise + Shine, part of VisArts’ fifty-third annual Craft + Design show, presented by Altria Group. The show takes place at Main Street Station’s newly renovated train shed the weekend of Nov. 17-19, 2017.

Richmond Magazine brings Nisbet, of Amanda Nisbet Design, to the event to talk about how to integrate one-of-a-kind pieces of craft into your home.

Nisbet has spent the last 20 years establishing herself as one of New York’s most distinctive designers. She has designed residences across North America and Europe.

Nisbet’s projects have been featured in numerous publications, including Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Coastal Living, New York Spaces, Oprah at Home, Traditional Home, Veranda, The New York Times, Town & Country and The Washington Post. She is also the author of the book, Dazzling Design, published by Stewart Tabori & Chang in 2012. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at Craft + Design.

Nisbet’s eponymous textile line is available through Studio Four (New York), Harbinger (Los Angeles), Travis (Atlanta), and Tigger Hall (Australia). The designer has also created a lighting collection in partnership with The Urban Electric Company and a small designer rug collaboration with Studio Four and Kyle Bunting. In 2014, Nisbet launched her first comprehensive furniture and lighting collection in partnership with Niermann Weeks.

The designer will take the stage at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Nov.18. Rise + Shine, which pairs an early shopping opportunity with a light breakfast, bloody marys and mimosas, will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Sat., Nov. 18. Tickets are $25 for VisArts members and $30 for the general public.
