Visual Arts Center Of Richmond Announces New dates for CRAFT + DESIGN Show
Richmond, VA (Feb. 15, 2022) The Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts) has announced new dates for its annual CRAFT + DESIGN Show in a committed effort to ensure an in-person event can be held at Main Street Station.
CRAFT + DESIGN 2022 is scheduled to be held October 14-16, 2022, at Main Street Station in Richmond, VA. This new date is approximately one month earlier than its typical weekend-before-Thanksgiving date. VisArt’s decided to move up the show to mid-October to get ahead of cold-weather COVID and Flu season, and the holiday travel rush.
“We put a lot of thought into this decision, and we are excited to finally gather in person again at Main Street Station,” says Lizzie Oliver, Director of Development for the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, “after two years of having to go virtual because of Covid restrictions and precautions. We’ve learned a lot from our successful running of classes and exhibitions during these past two years and with the well-being of our guests and artists in mind, we’re hoping to use what we’ve learned to guide us as we move forward with CRAFT + DESIGN.”
The Visual Arts Center of Richmond will hold off its annual Chili Throwdown event this year which usually takes place in mid-October, and incorporate elements of that popular event into CRAFT + DESIGN weekend. Proof of vaccination will be required for all vendors, artists, and guests.
