The Visual Arts Center of Richmond hosts its 31st annual Collectors’ Night, presented by Dominion Resources, on Saturday, March 18 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Voted Richmond’s Best Art Auction, Collectors’ Night includes a cocktail reception, a silent auction and a seated live auction.

This year, guests will be treated to “A Night in Old Havana.” They’ll enjoy hors d’oeuvres by MOSAIC and a mojito bar by Belle Isle Craft Spirits. Beer is by Stone Brewing Co., wines are by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, an Altria company, and cider is by Buskey Cider. Valet parking is provided by Day Starr Valet.

The silent and live auctions feature the work of Richmond’s most beloved artists. Artists who have recently exhibited or will soon exhibit at VisArts and are participating in this year’s auction include Anna Hepler, Carli Holcomb and Nate Young. Several Craft + Design award winners will contribute work, including Ashley Buchanan, who was last year’s featured artist, and Sean Donlon, who won the 2016 Elisabeth Scott Bocock Best in Show Award. Collectors’ Night favorites who are returning include Andras Bality, Bill Fisher, Kiyomi Iwata, Laura Loe, Gabriel Ofiesh and Louis Poole.

At this year’s event, VisArts will honor longstanding volunteer and former board chair Carter Reid for her continued commitment to the organization. Reid is senior vice president, chief administrative & compliance officer and corporate secretary at Dominion Resources. During the evening, VisArts will also honor the recipient of the 2017 Shelly Shepherd Master Teacher Award.

Collectors’ Night tickets cost $150 for VisArts members and $175 for the general public and are on sale through March 10. Four- and six-seat reserved tables, with table service during the live auction, are $1,000 and $1,500 respectively. All tickets can be purchased online at visarts.org or by calling (804) 353-0094.

Event sponsors include Dominion Resources, McGuireWoods LLP, Friends of Carter Reid, Alexandria McGrath, Davenport & Company LLC, Pam and Bill Royall, Katherine and Jack Nelson and Virginia Living. Sponsorships, including tables, are still available. Call Liz Bryant at (804) 353-4457 for more information.

All proceeds from Collectors’ Night help underwrite the Visual Arts Center of Richmond’s education and outreaching programming.
