Students will learn how to make several books in one weekend, including the pamphlet stitch, stab binding, longstitch, and coptic binding. These books make great journals, sketchbooks, and gifts. Reimagine old, discarded books with a variety of hand-sewn bookbinding and collage techniques. We’ll tear books apart and build them back again, using materials and tools of the bookmaking trade.

Books can be Sculptures
Explore books as sculptural forms by making a couple of different accordion books, a flower fold book and experimenting with tunnel book forms. We will be learning how to make hardcover and softcover books. The goal is to learn how paper can become sculpture when cut and folded into different forms.
