ViewExplore Japanese stab binding’s beautiful sewn patterns, combining the seduction of embroidery with practical bookbinding. Traditionally used throughout Asia and on original manga books, stab binding is great for displaying photographs, making notebooks and creating fabric books. You’ll go home with at least three different book styles to keep or give as gifts.
ViewThis class will explore artists books, specifically tunnel books, that make use of visual tricks of depth and perspective, and incorporate line, color, storytelling, and construction skills. Students will work through developing and constructing a tunnel book of their own, based off of their own independent research and interests.
