Play Day
Play Day is a family-friendly event where we invite the Richmond community to explore our studios and have fun making art together!
To keep everyone safe, we’re doing things a little differently this year by hosting an outdoor event with staggered entrance times. Visit the VisArts Courtyard to make art with us and pick up a free art-making kit to take home!
We’re offering free, timed tickets so that you and your friends or family can stop by and visit our art-making stations, where you’ll find some fun, quick art projects for all ages. On the way out, grab an art kit so the creativity can continue at home!
Play Day time slots are available on Friday, May 21, 3:00-6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 22 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Each time slot is for 30 minutes. A time slot needs to be secured for each person attending the event.
Free Art Kit: DIY Piñata
We created a fun, DIY piñata project that’s great for all ages! Each kit will include all the supplies you need, plus step-by-step instructions you can use to create and personalize a piñata. PLUS, each kit will include a blindfold and special pack of piñata fillers!
