Wheel Throwing for Everyone (B)
Have you always wanted to try wheel throwing? Come throw a pot using white stoneware, then fire and finish your pieces using food-safe glazes.
Special Notes
Please bring an old towel, apron, and a set of basic clay tools if you have them. All other materials provided.
Classes are confirmed one week prior to the start date. In order to help us confirm classes, please register as early as possible.
This class includes a glaze firing which students can choose from 2 options. Students will need to pick up their pieces at a later date.
On-site courses do not come with studio access outside of class time. Paid open studio access is available through our Studio Access Program. Please visit visarts.org for more information.
About the Instructor
Kathleen O'Connor
Kathleen O’Connor is an artist living and working in Richmond, VA. Originally from Wichita, KS, Kathleen moved to Richmond to finish her MFA in the Craft/ Material Studies Department at VCU in 2016. Kathleen uses a wide variety of materials, including clay, papier-mâché, drawing, and writing. She enjoys helping students learn about different materials, ways of making, and where things overlap.
In addition to teaching classes at the Visual Art Center of Richmond, she is the Program Coordinator and an instructor at Art on Wheels.
