Miniature Cardboard Furniture
Make miniature cardboard furniture!
Ages: 8+, but younger students can do if the adult cuts out the pieces

Time: 1/2 hour
Description: Get inspired by furniture artist Daniel Rickey, who creates functional + beautiful furniture. Create tiny, colorful, cardboard furniture for dolls, or simply put it on display to admire!

- How could you design an object around you to be more beautiful as well as functional?
Supplies:
- Thick card stock
- Construction paper
- Crayons or paint markers
- Scissors
- Furniture template (click button below)
- Optional: X-acto knife
Steps:
BASIC CHAIR:
- Cut out the template
- Trace the template onto your card stock
- Transfer the fold/cut lines so you know where those are
- Cut where the template indicates to cut
- Fold where to template indicates to fold
- Assemble chair by sliding the seat into the back as shown
SNAZZY CHAIR:
- Cut out the template
- Trace the template onto your card stock
- Transfer the fold/cut lines so you know where those are
- Add details inside the chair and on top of the chair
- You can cut out inside shapes with an X-Acto knife. Make sure an adult does this part.
- Use crayons to decorate!
