Looking for a creative way to spend your Saturday mornings? Join us for Side by Side!
Side by Side will start up again in Fall 2010. Look for Sept/Oct/Nov sessions to be posted soon!
Side by Side is a fun + free studio art program for children and families at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond!
How Side By Side Works:
Side by Side is about working and creating as a team. Children (ages 5-15) and an adult work together to make amazing art. Teams can include more than one child, but the adult must work with both children in the same class.
Everyone arrives on Saturday and gets the first look at that the classes that will be offered that day. Doors open at 9:45 AM. Each Saturday, there will always be five or six fun classes to choose from! You shape your Side by Side experience by signing up for the classes you want to take together.
Each Saturday is 10:00 AM – 12 noon
Pre-registration is required.
Please hold your participation requests until the fall sessions have been posted.
Contact Sally Kemp to register once the fall dates and offerings are listed.
Please include your name, your child’s name + age, and the dates you want to attend.
Classes you might find at Side by Side (it’s a surprise each week!):
Stained glass, ceramic masks, copper pendants, embroidered puppets, papier mache creatures, flip books, cartooning workshops, monoprints, knitting, wood-turning, hand-colored photographs, calligraphy + wax seals, block printing fabric, wool-felted slippers… something for everyone!
