The True F. Luck Gallery presents six exhibitions per year, that are free and open to the public. The gallery occupies an 1,800-square-foot space at the center of our 30,000 square-foot facility.
Exhibitions feature both emerging and established artists, with a specific focus on innovative materials and processes. Exhibition programming includes a visiting artist program, artist talks, panel discussions, film screenings, and hands-on workshops.
As a gallery functioning within a community art center, our exhibitions fulfill an integral part of VisArts’ educational mission: engaging the public in a lively dialogue about contemporary art and ideas while providing models of professional excellence that challenge students to achieve new levels of creativity.
Past exhibitions include work by Nick Cave, Michelle Erickson, Wendy Ewald, Elizabeth King, Whitfield Lovell, Oscar Muñoz, Claudette Schreuders, Bob Trotman, Leslie Wayne, Jack Wax, Carrie Mae Weems, and graduates of VCU’s Craft + Material Studies program.
Exhibitions are supported by a grant from Altria Group, Inc. All programming is partially funded by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
