Intermediate/Advanced – Lecture
Do you love taking pictures when you travel, but are never quite pleased with the outcome? This one-day workshop will help you to fine-tune your image-making skills when photographing in foreign and exotic locations. After reviewing a selection of students’ travel photographs, we will focus on how to convey a sense of place, capture the culture, and tell a story. Topics include: looking beyond the tourist shot, breaking the language barrier when photographing people, creative street and landscape photography, as well as what to pack, digital storage, working under difficult light, and using flash. The instructor will also share some of her work shot all over the globe. Students should bring 10 to 15 samples of their travel photography to class (prints, slides, digital JPEG files), as well as their camera and manual.
