Richmond’s first and only Art-o-mat machine arrived in December 2001 and has been going strong ever since, dispensing real art by real artists to Richmonders of all ages. In honor of this anniversary, 17 local artists, plus Whittington, are creating limited 20-piece editions. These works will be loaded in the Richmond Art-o-mat on Nov. 30 and available until sold out. Participating Richmond artists are: Caryl Burtner, Paul DiPasquale, Sarah Hand, Sue Heatley, Mary Holland, Aimee Joyaux, Aijung Kim, Dawn Latane Michael Lease, Alyssa C. Salomon (that’s her work above, left), Frank Saunders, Chuck Scalin, Mim Golub Scalin, Noah Scalin, Robin Silberman, Ephraim “Ed” Steinberg, Georgianne Stinnett, and Art-o-mat founder Clark Whittington.
A special display of Art-o-mat art, curated by longtime Art-o-mat supporter and artist, Alyssa Salomon, will be on display in the Commons November 30, 2011 – January 22, 2012.
